Woodward Fellowship in Map History Application Deadline: 6 December 2013
The deadline is Friday, 6 December 2013, to apply for the next available
David
Woodward Memorial Fellowship in the History of Cartography, which is
hosted at
University of Wisconsin–Madison Institute for Research in the Humanities in
conjunction with the History of Cartography Project. This stimulating
academic
environment boasts a number of libraries particularly well suited to
humanistic
and cartographic scholarship and gives scholars an opportunity to
further their research
in the history of cartography.
The fellowship may be taken during any two-month period between July
2014 and
June 2015. A $7,000 stipend, made possible by the generosity of Art and
Jan Holzheimer,
supports travel to Madison, living costs, taxes, and university fees.
For the 2014-2015
fellowship, preference will be given to proposals addressing
under-studied topics in
nineteenth-century cartography.
