I'm sorry to inform you all that Borden D. Dent, author of the popular
text "Cartography:  Thematic Map Design," passed away on August 17,
2000.  Borden will be remembered for his excellence in teaching, his
ability to inspire creative thinking, and his quiet, unassuming manner.
