Hi,

Penn State is in the market for a large forma sheet fed/roller scanner. We have had video demos of the ColorTrac SmartLF SG44, WideTEK 44, and the Contex HD Ultra X 42. All three have their positives.

This scanner will be used for items that are in good condition. We have an alternative stream for fragile and odd items.

Other than price, what were your reasons for purchasing the scanner you purchased?

Did you look at where the lenses were made, German vs Japanese or other?

Were you looking for speed or accuracy?

Do you let student employees use it?

Did you do batch scanning? If so, how easy was it?

How has your machine held up?

How was the external maintenance?

How easy was it to keep calibrated and clean?

What did you wish you knew before you bought your scanner?

Thanks in advance,

Heather Ross
