Operating under the theory that the library wants to create
a deterent to theft for all it's maps, I think the
antique ones should be ownership stamped on their face, if
possible. For aesthetic reasons, perhaps a little more
care should go into stamping this information onto the
antique map, e.g., making sure the ownership information is
straight, etc. than with a ordinary map, since these might
go into an exhibit some day. I believe that acid-free
stamp pad ink is available from supply houses if, that's a
concern.
