Sue, those barcodes have been around since this spring, I think.  When I
noticed them, I asked Mr. Snyder at USGS and he said the barcodes are used for
inventory.  I WISH we could use them for circulation, but they don't work with
our system (NOTIS).  We have to cover them up with our barcode stickies to
prevent confusion.
