Hi all,

I have a researcher who as a copy of a portion of an 1899 map of the Seattle
area that was used in a consultant's report. The consultant listed the
source of the map as: "1899 Treasury Department Topographic Map Surveyed by
J.J. Gilbert."

Maybe it's just Friday, but I couldn't find the original while he was here
and was hoping that someone else might have some suggestions or clues. I've
tried the Serial Set, NOAA's historic chart web site, etc.

From the appearance of the copy, it looks very similar to the old Coast and
Geodetic Survey charts (the copy includes contours).
