PRINCETON UNIVERSITY LIBRARY GIS Day Activities
Date: November 14, 2001
Time: 12:40a.m. - 2:00p.m.
Location: Guyot Hall, Room 10

Opening of GIS Day
Talk by Michael Tantala "Earthquake loss estimation research for the New
York City Area and its applications to the World Trade Center response
efforts."

This talk is based on research done by the author and funded by FEMA (the
Federal Emergency Management Agency), MCEER (the Multidisciplinary Center
for Earthquake Engineering Research) and the NJSP-OEM (New Jersey State
Police - Office of Emergency Management - Office of Emergency Management).

Michael W. Tantala is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Civil and
Environmental Engineering at Princeton. He has his M.A. and M.S.E from
Princeton and his bachelor's from the University of Pennsylvania.

Time: 2:00p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location: Map Collection, Geosciences and Map Library, Guyot Hall
Open house---includes map galleries, information on Library GIS service and
geospatial data, consultation on GIS, and refreshments.

Time: 9:00 - 5:00p.m.
Location: Firestone Library Lobby
