I just looked out the window at the shore of La Jolla and I
don't see a Cathedral Rock formation. There used to be a
formation at the mouth of what La Jollans call the "cove"
that was an arch dubbed "alligator head" (you could actually
walk out on it) but was washed away perhaps during the
'82-'83 El Nino. Wonder what the '97-'98 El Nino will do to
the Cove? (Hundreds of seals have recently taken refuge near
that beach from the high surf caused by Hurricane Nora and
seem to like it there so much there is no space left on the
          beach for humans.)
