WAML maintains the Map Librarian Toolbox (https://waml.org/resources/toolbox/). One of the pages in the Toolbox is a listing of map vendors: https://waml.org/resources/toolbox/vendors/map-vendors/

WAML also runs a review section titled "Book & Geospatial Resource Reviews" and historically ran list of recently published maps, though that column is currently looking for a new compiler, in the WAML Information Bulletin: https://waml.org/waml-information-bulletin/

In addition to the shoutout someone already gave for MAGIRT, WAML is also an awesome organization of those in (and adjacent to) geospatial librarianship!

Subject: Ordering Map Collection Items

Hello map minds!

I'm a new (as of August) Map Collection Librarian in a public library! I'm tasked with ordering my first round of books, atlases, and collection items for this budget year. At the moment, I'm trying to understand which materials to order and where to review materials for purchase. So far, I've found a few cultural atlases that complement our collection, but aren't available nearby. I'm also ordering the most up-to-date editions of atlases that reflect our highest level of collection (road and statistical atlases for Cleveland and Ohio).

Can y'all recommend any resources you use to review newly published materials for the collection? I'm ordering materials through Baker
and Taylor. Any insight is appreciated!

Sincerely,
Lisa
