On Thursday, October 29, 2020, OCLC expects to install changes to WorldCat Validation, including the following new features and enhancements: * OCLC-MARC Validations of New MARC Codes Announced September 2020. * Allowing a Fill Character in Authority 008/39 for LC Subjects. * Validating Three Fill Characters in Bibliographic 008/35-37. The following bug fixes will also be included: * Correction of Relationship Between Subfield $2 and First Indicator “7” in Authority Fields 082 and 083. * Correction to Validation for Parenthetical Prefixes to Record Control Numbers in Subfields $w and $0. * Correction to Validation of LCCNs Beginning with the Numeral “2”. These enhancements and fixes are the result of announcements of new MARC elements and codes by the Library of Congress as well as feedback and requests from members of the OCLC cooperative.
