There is a discussion paper and a proposal that may be of interest to the
map cataloging community.

Discussion paper 2015-DP12 investigates the use of field 007 for digital
sound recordings. It states that most of the 007 fields assume a tangible
physical item. The paper explores what changes could be made to better
cover digital items.

Proposal 2015-07 suggests adding subfield 0 to fields 336, 337, and 338 to
provide a place to record the URIs for the code lists for these fields.

We also have a white paper on the agenda concerning best practices for
recording URIs in MARC records.

The full agenda of the Saturday and Sunday meetings can be found at
http://www.loc.gov/marc.
