Question

A government agency desires to take the 1:50,000 maps series from the Vietnam war, scan the maps, and develop a point and click application in which untrained personnel can either type in map coordinates or point at a certain area on a map of Vietnam and be able to drill down to a blowup of the map in a short period of time.

Anyone have any experience at this kind of application? I believe this will be a costly endeavor, but I could be wrong.

Hal
