Over 3,000 (primarily) 19thc maps in books from the British Library
collections have been extracted from the scanned volumes and are available
online for georeferencing and overlaying. The images are public domain and
may be downloaded from Flickr (jpeg), and the overlays (kml) and coordinate
data (wld) from BL Georeferencer.

Release to the public for crowdsourced georeferencing opened this morning
at http://www.bl.uk/maps/

Maps placed today - a mere 3% - can be perused geographically here - a nice
global scattering!
