The National Library of Australia would like to offer the following to good homes:

Facsimile copies of 2 manuscript maps by Captain James Cook

The original maps are included in his 1762 journal of his surveys in Nova Scotia, held by National Library of Australia MS 5; catalogue record at https://catalogue.nla.gov.au/Record/2643061

The maps and journal can be viewed online here (low res, but we're working to fix that) https://nla.gov.au/nla.obj-229114939/view (click 'browse' to see all the individual page/map thumbnails)

The facsimiles are b/w printed on a cream paper, by an unknown printer, probably in the late 1970s (one has a 1980 NLA stamp on the rear).

We are currently cataloguing the facsimile copies we are keeping, so records will be available soon.

We have 4 spare copies of the untitled chart of the St John's River, New Brunswick, and 5 of the titled 'a sketch of Harbour Grace and Carbonere in Newfoundland'.

3 of the former and 1 of the latter have NLA stamps on the rear. A couple of copies of each have various minor stains.

Otherwise good condition.

Let me know your postal address off-list if you would like a copy of either or both maps.
