For those who enjoy British canals, here's a map of the system. It's a 
voyage through British economics, British politics, and engineering.

I always forget how informative this map is with respect to what was 
actually built. It's a bit like reading... probably no one came across 
this, the annual Canals books from the late 1960, with their section on 
disused canals that provoked an entire generation of misdeeds.
