the Wisconsin Historical Society

This is a 50% project assistantship from May 31, 2006 to May 31, 2007
with possibility of continuation, and including fringe benefits and
tuition remission.

The position provides GIS technical support for the Wisconsin Historical
Society.

Duties include:

- Provide technical help and support to internal and remote users of
WHPD (Wisconsin Historic Preservation Database) applications

- Manage the Division’s Internet Map Server and associated Map Services

- Serve as ESRI software license contact rep for WHS, in communication
with LICGF

- Help manage Division of Historic Preservation’s 5 Oracle
database/inventories and develop querying and data changes using TOAD
software

- Develop and provide support for customized GIS data requests from
outside users, as related to Custom Mapping Entrepreneurial Project

- Provide basic GIS training and support for Division of HP staff

- Serve as a Committee Member on the Division of HP Database Management Team

- Represent WHS in State Agency Resource Working Group (SAWRG) and Land
Information Council Meetings

Knowledge of ESRI ArcIMS, ESRI ArcGIS 9.0, ArcView 3.2 and Oracle
database management required. Familiarity with HTML and Javascript
programming preferred.
