We are in the planning stage of moving Government Documents and Maps to
another floor. We are currently separated (Gov Docs on 1 and Maps (& gov
doc overflow on 2). We are proposing several new floor plans and I
truly appreciate everyone's responses to my previous query.

My new question is "how high do your map cases go?" Do you have problems
retrieving maps for patrons? What about filing maps in the *very* top
drawer? (I'm only 5'2") What kind of ladder or step-stool do you
use and feel secure using?

Also - has anyone used compact shelving in a map collection? What for
and how does it work out?

TIA for your help. I'll summarize and post to the list for anyone
else interested.
