East View Geospatial seeks Map & Geospatial Data Librarian - The Map & Geospatial Data Librarian will work in a team environment executing a variety of metadata and library related tasks essential to the daily operations of the company.  The position is responsible for researching, collecting, and cataloging metadata on global geospatial products and their publishers. The Map & Geospatial Data Librarian is also responsible for establishing company metadata standard and practices, organizing the company's print and digital data holdings, and coordinating the addition of metadata into the company's internal spatial data catalogue.  Additionally, the Maps & Geospatial Data Librarian may be involved in some procurement-related activity as well as the receiving and onboarding of new products.

This person must be a self-starter, with proven communication skills, quality and detail orientated, with the ability to organize and prioritize the workload, ensuring deadlines are met.

Knowledge, Skills/Abilities:

*         MLS/MLIS degree plus work experience in library setting, cataloging, and/or data management
*         Passion for geography, maps, geospatial data and related publications
*         Proficiency with GIS software/tools,  MS Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access)
*         Familiarity with various cataloging standards:  MARC, FGDC, ISO
*         Strong attention to detail
*         Excellent oral and written communication skills:  PPT creation, sense of graphic/cartographic design a big plus
*         Ability to complete short-term projects with tight deadlines, comfortable with corporate and multitasking environment
*         Successful track record of staff management, project supervision/management, effective work across departments and with internal/external stakeholders
*         Foreign language skills highly desired (especially Russian, Chinese, Persian, Arabic, French or Spanish)
*         Dedication to continual learning-technology, geography, management, business
*         Willingness and ability to travel (occasionally internationally) for library and related conferences
