Many thanks to the people who responded to my question about
preserving soil maps. The answers were both informative and useful. It
appears that many people use these maps for a variety of reasons, but that
few libraries have done much to preserve them or enhance access to them.
This encourages me to go ahead with my grant proposal. If successful, an
inventory and cataloging records will be made available to all.
