All,

I'm reviewing a group of individual state maps produced in the 1990's by the USGS and in the lower right corner are a combination of numbers and letters.  The examples I have are 34092-E1-SP-500,  34092-E1-ST-500, and 34092-E1-SR-500.  I know what most of the letter/number combinations are but I'm wondering what SP, SR, and ST mean?  The one map that has -SR does have shaded relief so I could see using "R" to represent relief?  The map with -ST has contour lines so maybe the "t" is for topographic?  The map with SP looks exactly the same as the one with no contour lines so I'm thinking the "P" in -SP is for planimetric?     Not sure what the "S" is used for.

Just being curious on a lazy Friday afternoon.
