Hi All,

Not sure who in this community has purchased or has thought about purchasing GIS data related to China from the China Data Center at the University of Michigan, but today I found their website, chinadatacenter.org, to be abandoned with a message that states:

"Effective immediately, this China Data Center (CDC) website and associated CDC websites will no be longer available.

Following a comprehensive internal review, the ICPSR and the University of Michigan have determined that they will no longer host the CDC and its related websites and tools. CDC customers with subscription periods running beyond September 2018 will be contacted in the coming weeks to begin the process of refunding prepaid (prorated) amounts.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience."

The center had many datasets for sale as well as subscription services.

I'm curious if anyone has additional information about this, if this is going to affect anyone here, or if you have a plan to use an alternative data provider for this data.

Best,

Stephen
