    All,

OK, OK, like I said at the end of that fateful message, "As I
understand it". Although my grasp of the Sun's path through the tropics
is solid (and thanks to Jim Minton, I can use an Analemma with best of
'em), I was evidently still a bit shaky on the effect of the Sun's
angle on its settings and risings. BUT! What better way to learn than
to spark interesting conversation with knowlegeable people? Read? Sure,
I do that too. But reading can lack individual interpretations and
observations that make things like listservs so powerful in their
application to continuing education. As Dr. Carter was so good about
pointing out in class years ago, education is never complete, and the
more you learn, the more you realize how little you know.
So, I'm greatful for the things I've learned about Solstices, etc.
It's been fun to read all the responses...even the pokes from "former"
    favorite professors. <G>

    Eric
