You may be interested to learn that, at the annual dinner yesterday, the
IMCoS-Helen Wallis Award for 2007 was given to Peter Barber, head of map
collections at the British Library.  Particular mention was made of his
recent exhibition,  London: a life in maps.

The award is made for a "cartographic contribution of great merit and wide
interest to map collectors worldwide".

The full citation for this award will appear in the next issue of the 'IMCoS
Journal'.
