The Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey has completed a data preservation and presentation project on their Lake Superior Legacy Collection. This collection contains the raw materials (notebooks, maps, samples, thin sections) of the Lake Superior Division of the USGS. They have succeeded in getting these things online and accessible to anyone with internet access. Future plans include design of a projects page that will make these items easier to find but for now, go directly to:

http://data.wgnhs.uwex.edu/lake-superior-legacy/index.html to see this lovely collection.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
