Subject: Washington bibliography on the Internet!

[Folks: I'm posting this to a bazillion listservs and e-addresses, so you may get duplicates of this message. My apologies...]

We are pleased to announce that the Digital Bibliography of the Geology and Mineral Resources of Washington State, 1798 through 2001, is now available on the Internet.

There are many ways to get to it....

From the Washington Division of Geology and Earth Resources (DGER) homepage, at http://www.wa.gov/dnr/htdocs/ger/index.html

or, you could go to the bib's front page, at http://www.wa.gov/dnr/htdocs/ger/washbib.htm (this one includes searching tips, info about the database, and acknowledgements)

or, you could go straight to the search site, at http://www2.wadnr.gov/dbtw-wpd/washbib.htm

The database includes lots of stuff:
* All the citations about the geology, geologic hazards, and mineral resources of Washington we've found--All the books, maps, articles, abstracts, etc.
* The non-Washington cataloged books in the DGER library
* Other non-Washington books, articles, and abstracts we want to have access to. Examples include materials about:
         --the Juan de Fuca Ridge
         --Cascadia subduction zone paleoseismology
--tsunamis, internationally (in support of the TsuInfo component of the National Tsunami Hazard Mitigation Program)
         --etc.

The site is still a "work in progress"-- we're still tweaking some of the forms and text, and we intend to post the updates to the database monthly. It works, though, and it's there, so we invite you to use it.

Connie
