Cartographic and Digital Standard for Geologic Map Information --
U.S. Geological Survey Open-file Report 95-525 and -526.
 
NOTE regarding its release: In September, 1995, the USGS
announced in this mailing list the release of the above-named
draft document, and called for a 2-year review period prior to
revision and adoption as a Federal standard.  The review period
has been changed.
 
A rapid review of this document is hereby requested from any and
all users, prior to its revision and release as a draft standard
of the Federal Geographic Data Committee's (FGDC) Geologic Data
Subcommittee.  Once it has become a FGDC draft standard, a formal
period of review and revision will be followed.  A rapid review
has also been requested of the Association of American State
Geologists.  Please send comments before 1/31/96 to:
