Job Summary: The Geospatial Services Manager will not only “decommission” most of the current paper collection and upgrade the digital holdings, but also be responsible for working with local high schools, the public library, and local museums to use geospatial tools to encourage STEM participation and develop curriculum for implementing an online graduate degree program in GIS.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Geography or closely related field and at least two years of experience. Demonstrated technical expertise in geospatial analysis, especially GIS. Ability to generate external funding.



Skills and Knowledge: Must be adept in the management and use of ESRI GIS products and one or more open source GIS platforms. Must be adept with one or more statistical software packages (SPSS, SAS, R, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with remote sensing software and with large data sets. Experience with digital archives, outreach activities, online teaching.
