The South Pacific questions are not easy but I would not say "imponderable."

gives rigorous definitions of the world's oceans and seas.  I'm really not ambitious enough to download bathymetry data and get an estimate for the volume of any of them.  Getting area estimates would not be so hard but I'm not ambitious enough for that either.
