Has anyone mentioned Thomas Moran's work for the Hayden Yellowstone survey?

I saw Hayden's name in relation to Jackson the photographer,
but I've not see Moran.  I like this thread.  Its nice to see some
recognition given to these pioneers of geologic/geographic exploration.

It still amazes me how, in 9 months from the date of his return from
Yellowstone, Hayden had organized and examined all of the
expedition's samples, written up all of their observations, and
submitted to Congress a full, published USGS report, with map.  It
would take five years to do that today.
