Dear  mapsters,

Apparently the map was generally issued in 24 pieces backed on muslin, so i
cannot blame libraries for the dastardly deed.

Several folks came up with copies, and it may be on David Rumsey's site
[merged into one piece?] so we are o.k.

Note; as soon as I sent out the query we found another little used, and
almost perfect copy of the thing in the stacks, not with the sheet maps.
So we may plan to scan it and post it, both in pieces and as a whole.
