All,

Jame Niehues, the painter of ski maps, has a book coming out and has started a kickstarter campaign.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/orsc/james-niehues-the-man-behind-the-map?ref=kehr0m

James Niehues spoke at our Western Association of Map Libraries (WAML) conference in Portland, Oregon in the fall of 2001. It was one of the first times he spoke in public about his work. Fantastic artist & cartographer. LOVE his stuff. Wonderful cartographic lineage from Hal Shelton to James Niehues.

To give you an idea of how appreciated he is in the public mind, this Crowdfunding was started on Nov. 14 with an end date of January 7. The goal was to raise $8,000. So far, with 20 days left, the fund has raised $228,000+
