As a clarification to the forwarded message noting on-line geographic
names references, "GEOname" is GDE Systems' trademark for its geographic
names products.
 
I am sure that the author of the original message intended to refer to the
US Defense Mapping Agency's GEOnet Names Server (GNS) and not to our
products.
 
Also, the Canadians have an excellent site with their national names
database.  http://www-nais.ccm.emr.ca/cgndb/geonames.html
