Hello,
At the MAP Library of the University of Oregon
http://libweb.uoregon.edu/map/ we're working on a project to improve
access to our collection of nautical charts. With help from a file we
received from NOAA we've put together lists of the older charts we
have, but now we're looking at creating an index of all the current
nautical charts we've received through the GPO depository program. The
NOAA list only includes charts of the US and US Territories, so it's
but a start.
What I'm looking for is a file (something that Excel or Access can
work with) that has Chart Numbers and Titles for each of the charts in
the NGA Nautical Charts catalog
http://naco.faa.gov/index.asp?xml=naco/catalog. I can download the
.pdfs for each of the 9 world regions and work with them manually, but
it would take quite awhile to get the information into a format I can
use.
Do you know of a source for such a file?
Thank you for any help you can provide,
Jon McConnel, MLIS
