Hello;
When I talked with Dominica Lands and Survey recently they said the
1:50,000 was back in stock. The DLS have not yet filled our order so I
cannot confirm the map is actually available.
The map is still in copyright, as the copyright of most DOS material was
devolved to the appropriate country at the time of dissolution of the
DOS. In the case of Dominica, through agreement with Crown Copyright, the
Dominica Lands & Survey Dept. administers the copyright of all Dominican
mapping, both pre- and post-independence.
At the time the DOS warehouse was closed the OS offered the stock to the
appropriate country at reduced prices - only a few countries took advantage
of the OS offer. We (Omni Resources) acquired nearly all of the remaining
inventory, including the Lesser Antilles maps, South Pacific mapping, and
some African mapping. We have ample stock of most of the Lesser Antilles
maps, but there were a few not in the shipment, including the Dominica
1:50,000. Anyone wanting a list of available DOS maps should contact me
off-list.
Thanks
Russell Guy
