The Agricultural Education LDE is designed for FFA members to develop,
practice, and demonstrate skills in teaching agricultural education. Each
part of the event simulates, as closely as possible, real-world classroom
teaching and learning activities and procedures.

Registration and Lesson Plans Deadline –* Friday, Jan 26th *

*Registration for CDE is not complete until the Lesson Plan is turned in by
Friday, January 26th. *

Lesson Plans should be submitted via email to
[log in to unmask]

*Date and Time: *

*Area 3 and 4 - Tuesday, February 27th - Camp John Hope - Activity Center *

*This LDE takes place the same day at the region Poultry Judging CDE. *

Once registration closes and we know the number of students participating,
you will be able to sign up for a specific presentation time that day.
There will be two judging rooms: an Area 4 room and an Area 3 room.
The top two participants in each area will move on to the state
competition.

*Event Details:*

This event is open to FFA members in *grades 9-12* and is limited to *one
student per chapter*.

On the Area level, the Agricultural Education CDE will consist of three
parts:

1. Organize, prepare, and write a lesson plan using the “Lesson Plan
Submission” guidelines.

2. Teach a 4-6 minute interest approach from the lesson plan to a panel of
judges; no students will be present, and judges will not ask follow-up
questions.

   - The rubric for the Area presentation can be found on page 8 of the
   guidelines attached and linked below.

3. Complete a multiple-choice exam

On the Area level of competition, students will still turn in a full lesson
plan and take a quiz. However, the teaching practicum on the area level
will require the student to teach a 4-6 minute interest approach rather
than teach the full lesson. An interest approach presentation rubric for
the Area level has been added to the CDE guidelines.

*Agriculture Education LDE Guidelines and additional information regarding
the lesson plan requirement can be found HERE
