Good evening!

Valdosta City Schools District is excited to be adding our first middle
school program at J.L. Newbern Middle School. The Valdosta High School FFA
Chapter is in its 4th year and has experienced exponential growth in such a
short time, and is excited to begin having a feeder program and working
together to build a strong FFA chapter and agricultural program at the
middle school.

This position will consist of 6th grade exploratory ag, 7th grade
exploratory ag, and 8th grade Basic Ag (for high school credit).

J.L. Newbern already has existing raised garden beds, pollinator gardens,
and citrus trees which are already in place to offer hands-on learning
activities for the agricultural classes. There is also possible community
funding for a Greenhouse to be built on the school campus for the
agricultural teacher/department.
