MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT:

The 2011 FASEB Ciliate Molecular Biology Conference will be held at the Orthodox Academy of Crete (Kolymvari, Chania, Greece), from July 11-15, 2011.

Location and travel: OAC is 22 km from the city of Chania (or Hania) and 39 km from the international airport Ioannis Daskalogiannis. Most travelers will fly through Athens, however, there are direct flights from Zurich, Frankfurt and Munich to Ioannis Daskalogiannis (Condor Airlines, a branch of Lufthansa). The airport is a 30-40 min drive from the meeting site. Another option is to take an overnight ferry from the mainland to Crete.

Registration: costs are currently being negotiated by FASEB. The exact cost for registration is currently being negotiated by FASEB. The FASEB estimate for single occupancy room is 1118 € ($1450 US). For double occupancy room, the estimated fee is 914 € ($1185 US). These estimates are based on the current registration fees for 2010 FASEB meetings at Il Ciocco, Italy. Lodging can also be obtained in a nearby village, walking distance to the conference site. For general information on the meeting site, go to http://www.oac.gr/htm/oak_about_en.html <http://www.oac.gr/htm/oak_about_en.html> .
