Climate change and resilience of Catalan agriculture: interdisciplinary and multi-scale boost for diversification with legumes as a mitigation and adaptation strategy

Deadline: December22nd, 2023


Role profile: We are seeking a PhD on Agricultural Sciences, Agronomy or Environmental Sciences with strong background on process-based modelling.

Duties and responsibilities: the postdoctoral researcher will be in charge of the simulation of diversification scenarios with legumes through upscaling techniques and on-farm measurements of cropping systems impacts on GHG emissions and soil C indicators. Involvement in project management (10%) will also be required.

Qualifications and skills:

  *   PhD in Agricultural or Environmental Sciences.
  *   Expertise on process-based modelling, upscalling and agronomy.
  *   Strong communication and scientific writing skills.
  *   Demonstrable skills in data collection and statistical analysis for life sciences.
  *   Ability to work independently and in collaboration with other researchers.
  *   High command of English.
  *   Driving license.
  *   Expertise on legumes and/or Mediterranean cropping systems will be welcomed.

Terms: 18 months’ postdoctoral research contract at Universitat de Lleida (UdL) (Lleida, Spain) and salary according to Spanish laws. Expected to begin by spring 2024.
