For the third consecutive year, the U.S. Department of Education will join the annual Open Data Day celebration, where groups from all over the world create and participate in open data events throughout their communities. In commemoration of this year’s occasion and to build greater awareness and use of Open Data, the Department’s Office of the Chief Data Officer will sponsor a virtual Open Data Forum on Wednesday, March 6 from 12 – 1 PM ET. As part of the virtual Forum, the Department will showcase agency Open Data exemplars such as the Department’s Open Data Platform and highlight data-rich Department initiatives such as the Department’s “Raise the Bar: Lead the World” effort. The Forum will also foster a conversation with Department of Education employees and the public towards the improvement of the Department’s open data practices, platforms, and resources.
