We have ancient poster size indexes with old 1:125,000 maps marked off by
hand,  and old 15' sheets also marked.

Still very useful for research collections with all the old editions on
hand.

Not sure if we will ever get these online, wonder if such visual indexes
were ever  formally produced, or did we do these in the 30s and 40s out of
frustration at the lack thereof?
