The SBB SPK's Map Librarian, Wolfgang Crom (successor to Lothar Zoegner,
for those who may have forgot), and I discussed his *desire* to continue
an *online* publication of 'BC' at least three years ago. One can
assume that continual coordination of former split East & West Berlin
parts of the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, staff shortages, and financial
cutbacks thru the whole SBB (some MAPS-L readers may be aware of these
facts from elsewhere) have slowed up this desideratum. The will may
well still be there - but not the means. Surely someone (Mary
[Larsgaard]?!) ought to discuss - and update the situation for this list
(and others) - directly with Wolfgang (languages: German, English, and
[South American] Spanish) whose e-mail address is:

Sincerely (i.e 'over to you'),

etc.)

Just received an email from Mary Marshall
at deGruyter (which now publishes this title);
I'd asked her about possibilities for online
publication and she said that's it's a good idea,
but "...Saur Verlag has the rights only for the
creation and publication of a print edition.
The editorial staff at the Staatsbibliothek zu
Berlin have the rights and would be the ones
deciding to make a web version available.
Until then we appreciate all the libraries who
are still ordering the print edition."
Volume 32 (2005) is in the pipeline and others
are planned to follow.
