Thanks for the link that provided information on the atlas, but, alas,
it was written in Slovenian. So, I used Google Translate to translate
the text of what the book is all about. Here is that translation. I
really hope it gets published in English and available for sale in the U.S.

Slovenes do not yet have its own history atlas. Slovenian history was
ever on the maps are included in broader historical atlas of Yugoslavia,
Europe or the world, especially for the needs of primary and secondary
schools. Such school atlases in the former Yugoslavia in Zagreb
particular issue.

The first attempt to Slovenian history was shown in separate maps in the
atlas own, was a historical atlas of Slovenia, which was released in a
refugee camp in Spittal in 1948 and then for use in schools in Buenos
Aires in 1960 (author and editor of the Roman Pavlovčič). Therefore,
today is the need for such a clear and urgent publication.

New Publisher magazine in the fall of 2001 established this need and
draw up plans of the Slovenian historical atlas, which should cover the
key periods of the prehistoric cultures to the independence of Slovenia
1991 (DDR author of the proposal. Igor Grdina). In 2003, the plan was
registered with the Ministry of Culture as a multi-publishing project of
national importance. Content and form the Slovenian historical atlas
included in the collection of Slovenian Chronicle and this should be
supplemented with maps edition of selected visual materials and
comments. As Slovenian Chronicle should be devoted to any person who is
the nation's cultural history and civilization value, especially as an
additional source of data in the overall learning and professional
specialty and scientific work.

In 2004, theeditorial board of a professional publishing house up to
prepare the atlas. He decided to mainly younger historians with
doctorates who participate in different Slovenian expert institutions
(SASA, Institute for Contemporary History in Ljubljana Archdiocesan
Archives, National Museum). Editors, who are both authors are
specialists in individual periods of international and Slovenian history
and show a particular sensitivity for historical cartography. These are
Dr. Boris Golec (team leader), dr. France M. Dolinar, MD. Miha Kosi, MD.
Ales Gabric and Mag. Thomas Nabergoj. The group has developed a plan in
four chronological sections: Classical (Nabergoj) Middle Ages (Cuts),
Modern Age (Golec), 19 and 20 Century (Gabric) church history for the
entire period from the appearance of Christianity the Slovenian church
creation of a new province in 2006 he took over Dr.. Dolinar. 2005 had
finalized the design and scope of the Slovenian Historical Atlas of the
normal ranges, ie. with all key and pressing the hands of Slovenian
history dvatisočletnem span. Atlas is now ok volume. 50 large full page
maps, mainly based on the current scale of Slovenia, but it is also a
large area of Central Europe, Yugoslavia and the Balkans, and ok. 100
small cards in addition to handling large or detailed maps. They will
also cover the political, ecclesiastical, economic and cultural history.
Further illustrations of the map (sketches, drawings, charts, tables)
visibility, will highlight the history of Slovenia, written comments and
they will only be a necessary component of Atlas, without which the
individual maps are not sufficiently clear and compelling. Each period
will be accompanied with a general introduction.
