Does anyone out there know what a "landhook" is?
The Reference Dept. of the public library here called me today, saying a
patron saw this term in the legend of an old topographic map and wants to
know what it is. I've looked on old topos, as well as in geographic and
unabridged dictionaries, to no avail. Sorry, but that's all the clues I
(and you, if you decide to accept this mission) have to go on.

Thanks for your efforts
