Barbara,
We have these digital files for New York State that we got from NARA. They are in a (JPG) raster format and would need to be georeferenced to make them vector files to use in a GIS. I don't know of any source that would have these files in a GIS-ready vector format. Others may chime in of they know of a source.

Subject: shapefiles for enumeration districts, 1900-1940

Hi folks,

I need shapefiles for enumeration districts (EDs) for 1900-1940. Any ideas?

TIA!

Barbara

P.S. For posterity ... I haven't seen this source for online ED maps mentioned in the maps-l archives:
United States Enumeration District Maps for the Twelfth through the Sixteenth US Censuses, 1900-1940. FamilySearch. Citing NARA microfilm publication A3378.
